Recent report shows rapid damage to milk nutrients by light

A US-based company has reviewed existing third-party studies, commissioned research and new laboratory tests to compile a comprehensive report on light degradation in consumer products.

The report concludes that packaged foods are best kept in the dark, because light of any kind degrades the freshness, nutrients and stability of a product, leading to a faster deterioration. This shows that milk can taste or smell worse after only 15 minutes of exposure to light.
